Turkey’s central administration gross debt stock is TL 6,276.8 billion in October 2023

According to figures prepared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, Turkey’s central administration gross debt was Turkish liras 6,276.8 billion (USD 222.1 billion) as of October 31st, 2023, 3.4% higher than the balance of the previous month of September in Turkish lira value.

 

This debt stock represents the outstanding debt of public sector institutions and the Central Bank. The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was TL 28.26 at the end of October 2023 and TL 27.41 at the end of September 2023.

 

Of the total gross debt stock, TL 2,219.6 billion (USD 78.5 billion), or 35.4%, was denominated in Turkish liras while TL 4,057.2 billion (USD 143.6 billion), or 64.6%, was in foreign currency.
