Turkey’s annual inflation rate 19.71% in March 2019

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK - TurkStat) announced an increase in the consumer inflation rate for March 2019 compared with the previous month as 1.03%, resulting in a small increase in the annual-to-date rate to 19.71% from the previous month’s rate of 19.67%.


The highest monthly increase was recorded in health with 32.48%, followed by food and non-alcoholic beverages with 2.44%, education with 1.45%, transportation with 0.75%, and restaurants and hotels with 0.67%.


The only monthly decrease was recorded in communication with 0.29%.


The highest annual increase was recorded in food and non-alcoholic beverages with 29.77%, followed by miscellaneous goods and services with 27.94%, household goods with 26.98%, entertainment and culture with 20.08%, health with 19.72%, and restaurants and hotels with 19.60%.
