The holy month of Ramadan will start tomorrow May 6

The first day of fasting for Muslims in Turkey in 2019, in accordance with the holy month of Ramadan, is May 6th. Ramadan will continue for 29 days this year. The Ramadan holiday starts this year with half a day on Monday June 3rd and continues for 3 whole more days until and including Thursday June 6th. The Turkish government has recently announced that the holiday will be extended to include the morning half day of Monday and the whole day of Friday June 7th. As a result the holiday will in effect last for nine days from Saturday June 1st thru to Sunday June 9th.
